Indies Trader III
"The Indies Trader III is the ultimate surf charter vessel. It is the most comfortable boat - has the longest range - great stability - just a really low stress level. It lacks nothing. 5 course meals, full bar including Australian wines and hard liquor - it is not possible to have a better surf trip experience" Martin Daly

During this off season the Indies Trader III will be undergoing a major upgrade in Singapore. The best surf charter boat in Sumatra will be back in 2007 with an updated look and set of toys; we're looking forward to delivering our high end clientele the type of surf trip they not only deserve, but expect - the type of trip that only the Indies Trader III can produce.

Standard Trip: The standard trip duration is 12 days / 13 nights, two days longer than most of our competitors. We stay out for these two extra days to ensure that our guests have the opportunity to surf at least one solid swell during their stay, but in all likelihood we usually encounter two, sometimes three significant swell events during our scheduled charter dates. If you're going to travel halfway across the world those two extra days are worth their weight in gold.
8 guests maximum.

The Yacht: Indies Trader III is a 90' single displacement hull twin screw cruiser - steel hull with aluminium superstructure, (twin deck) commissioned in 1983 in Brisbane, Queensland.

The Indies Trader III has over a three thousand mile range which means she can go virtually anywhere in Indonesia. Trader III also has a fuel browser for filling up our other vessels at sea if necessary. Trader 3 carries 20 tonnes of fuel. A large walk-in chiller can keep produce fresh for weeks and our walk in freezer can carry enough food for six months. Two, five thousand litre, (1,300 gallons) a day water maker makes sure we never run out of water.

The Trader III has unsurpassed size and stability - 125 tonnes GRT make her the second largest surf charter boat operating in Indonesia (behind the Indies IV). Her Niaid, Gyro controlled anti roll system and wing like stabilizer fins mounted on the chines amidships eliminate 90% of the vessels roll whilst underway. If you are prone to sea sickness the Trader III is the only choice.

Escape the crowds - Trader III can travel through sea conditions comfortably that keep the rest of the charter boats hiding in the anchorage. This means that can be where we want to be to get the best waves in almost all weather conditions-comfortably. Too crowded in the Mentawais? Wake up the next morning in a different Island chain - that's what we're famous for.

Extras? The 3 has a jet ski with rescue sled, scuba compressor, 18ft center console tender with 85hp outboard, 42" Plasma Screen and home theater system in the main Saloon with sit down dining for 12, Pentium 4 Desktop Computer with A3 photo printer, an espresso machine, 20"LCD Sharp flat screens and DVD player in every cabin, Playstation, wakeboard, water-skis, tow boards, diving gear. Fishing gear, ice cold beer, Tequila, Whisky, Vodka, Rum, Bourbon, Red and White wine and any thing else you can think of drinking and the best damn food within a thousand miles.

All of our Captains know where to go to escape the crowds and find the best waves possible. Martin is in constant contact with all the boats with updated weather & surf forecasting modules and needless to say the Indies Trader boats score empty perfection more often than anyone because they actively seek out the best wave/wind conditions day in and day out.

The Indies Trader series can also boast the best and longest track record of uninterrupted scheduled charters in the industry. Each boat undergoes an annual survey and full ocean going safety equipment test to Solas International Standards. Each boat carries comprehensive loss and liability insurance as a passenger carrying commercial craft.

The Indies III allows our guests to go virtually anywhere. Coastal Sumatra?  Nias?  Enggano?  Panaitan?  Banyaks?  Roti?  Sumba? Sulawesei?  Indonesian Pacific Coast? Trader III can go places few can get to.
