This section is designed to keep you up-to-date on "exploratory trips" that become available on any one of the Indies Trader vessels.

Indies Trader IV
Every year the Indies Trader Trader IV will voyage from the Mentawai Islands in the West to the atolls of Micronesia in the East. Moving with the seasons, we will cruise the pristine islands of Sumatra and Java then explore the magical Spice Islands of Malukus and Eastern archipeligo of Indonesia. Sailing east to Irian Jaya, Papua New Guinea, the Solomons and the Marshall Islands, we will guarantee our guests a true wilderness experience.

We have systematically explored this entire region and believe it to be one of the world's last frontiers of untouched natural wonders.

Dive on virgin reefs, lounge and swim on uninhabited pearl white beaches and surf secluded reef breaks. View endangered and rare species such as the Orang-utan and Komodo Dragon and hike through steamy rainforests.

Visit astounding archaeological and geological sites and experience rich and diverse cultures. Each destination will offer it's own treasures and most are only accessible by sea.

No other organization can bring you to these remote locations and no other vessel can take you there in such luxury.

The Indies Trader IV iwill be at in an undisclosed location in the Pacific Ocean that Martin describes like this:

"I have traveled the world's oceans for the last 7 years on the Quiksilver Crossing and been pretty much everywhere except the west coast of South America . The _____________ in my experience is the best place in the world today for a water-sports holiday.

Why?

• Solitude - once we left the main port of ____________ we had no interaction with other people unless we sought them out the most pristine environment I have seen - compares to Northern Australia and outer New Guinea .

• World Class consistent surf. I just found it!

• World class fishing- From Marlin to Bonefish the fishing is ridiculous.

• World class Diving- all the coral is alive, amazing WW2 wrecks and the worlds best underwater visibility and teeming with all kinds of fish- we did not see anybody fishing the whole time we were there-untouched.

• Disease free- No Malaria, Bird flu etc

• Temperate climate-tropical but not humid and sticky, Air Conditioning is not an absolute necessity like many tropical areas. Average temperature seemed in the high 70s low 80s. Constant breeze. Warm water-wetsuit not required.

• Political Stability-ex USA territory until the early 80s, no terrorist threat extremely USA friendly-you do not even need a visa. Safe for the whole family.

• Easy Flights- four and a half hours from Hawaii on Continental Airlines 3 times a week.

Anyway more than enough said. We will start operation with Trader 4 in early November. And I will be onboard as Captain. Minimum trip length is 7 days but most trips will be 2 weeks.

Indies Trader III
The Indies Trader III will be available for its next exploratory trip in early March 2007. We will be traveling from Jakarta to Sumatra chartering our way past Panaitian Island, Krakatoa, South Sumatra, West Sumatra, and eventually the Mentawai Islands. This trip is a hardcore adventure that involves a good deal of traveling but also the opportunity to visit pristine areas where you will be the only surfers within hundreds of miles.

Indies Trader II
There are currently no exploratory trips available on the Indies Trader II. Our next available trip to the Mentawai Islands or North Sumatra is in late February.

MV Indies Trader
There is an exploratory trip available right now across the top of New Guinea. There is another set of trips available in the Marshall Islands in March and on the way back to the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia through the Carolines in late March, early April. Specific dates and itineraries will be available soon. If you're keen to get off the beaten path on one of the most respected and prolific boats of all time in an area we first explored on the "Quiksilver Crossing" give us a call or shoot over an e-mail and we'll get you into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

How to Book
If you are interested in booking your next surf adventure on the Adventure Komodo all you need to do is follow the instructions below. For detailed information about going on one of our surf charter trip from A-Z please visit our "Travel Information" page.

1. Make Contact: The first thing you need to do is contact us with your requested dates using the contact information at the bottom of this page. We are available 24 hours a day to handle your needs. In general we do not handle individual bookings - the boat is available on a daily rate basis and can accomodate up to 9 guests.

2. Confirm Dates and Make Deposit: Once we have confirmed your dates we require a 50% deposit to secure your booking. This deposit is preferably made by wire transfer to our account in Singapore; Bookings originating from the United States and surrounding areas have the additional option of writing a personal check or money order. Please read over our "Terms and Conditions" for detailed payment information.

3. Fill out our Online Booking Form: Now that your dates are set and your payment is in we need to get some basic information from all of the members in your group. This information will be used to secure the necessary permits to allow you to travel in the Mentawai Islands or in other areas we are traveling. Please visit our "Make a Reservation" page for an in depth look at the information we collect. This step is interchangeable with Step 2 - you can do them in any order.

4. Book your airline tickets: Indies Trader Marine Adventures is now equipped to handle all of our United States guests flight details - we will work directly with you to find the appropriate flight and schedule for your group if you need us to. Otherwise, you are more than welcome to handle your travel details on your own. Please visit our "Travel Information" page for detailed flight information - where you need to fly into, and what are the available options at your disposal.

5. Make final payment: You final payment is due two months prior to your trip's departure. Once that's in along with the information from our online booking form you're all set to go!

6. Show up: Rule #1 is to remember to not miss your flight...believe us, it can happen to anyone. Once you've made it on the right flight, endured a trip halfway across the world, and landed in Padang we will be there to pick you up and take you to your surf charter vessel. 7. Surf: Once you're on the boat everything is taken care of - the only thing you need to worry about is what board you should ride and how you want to drag your hand in the barrel - fingertips up or out? Want to know what kind of waves to expect? It's all right here.
